| Since we've changed the setting, is that going to change the plot that we'd already put in place? | |

| So, should we add a note to Arabelle's parents' corpses? Should Pearl and Gus be with her when she finds them?

I think so. So most of us have read at least a couple of their books...we have an idea of how they talked. That's true. So you do want to set it in England, than? That works for me.

Okay, maybe we should make it modern times.
Still, I just didn't like the idea of using modern warfare, like guns. Most of the characters are teenagers, so I don't think there will be too much of a problem with guns (or legal guns, I should say). I know, but Saul plans on waging war on their country, and I didn't really want to use modern warfare for that, as I know zip about it and it's really not as fun. It wouldn't be that fun. One nuclear bomb and the story's over. Maybe you should reconsider the Victorian era thing. It could still work. We just need to make sure the story line fits with the time. Actually, you're right.
Okay, let's ditch Gus' glasses and Arabelle's highlights. Also, maybe the girls can attend a finishing school instead of a regular school. I can't remember; was there anything else? The hairstyles would probably have to change, and we'd need to be more careful about the characters' etiquette. Other than that, everything seems to fit the times. Clothing, too. Gus was dressing indie before; well, now she's not!
Also, Arabelle had short black hair; let's keep it natural, but we should probably make it somewhat longer. Just past her shoulders, maybe. Didn't they all pin their hair up back then? I could be wrong, but I thought they did. I'm not sure. I thought it was something like their hair had to be loose before a certain age, then at that age, they had to pin it up?
Also, is this in England or America? England might be more interesting, but I don't know if we could pull the dialogue off. The only slangs I know are their use of "bloody" and that bathroom is "loo." Well, I guess we could just make sure our dialogue consists of names, bloody, and loo. "Bloooooody!" "Loo, loo, bloody, Saul, bloody loo!" "Loo Loo loo, bloody, loo."

Wait. Have we decided a time era for this yet? I don't think so. Not medieval times, but not exactly modern with guns and etc...? I was thinking maybe the Victorian Era or the Elizabethan Era. Obviously, we'd have a problem with fighting females, but we can lay exception to that...right? But one of your characters has glasses that 'were popular in the sixties'. Doesn't that conflict with the idea of having a Victiorian/Elizabethean era story? Yes, that's true. We would have to change that, of course. But I must say, I would hate to ditch her glasses!

Number of posts : 1077 Age : 30 Location : South Carolina, USA Dictionary Definition : Jane: Also known as "Ally," "Allison," and "freshmeat," this female Homo Sapiens specimen has proven herself a strong member of the Literary Cabinet world. One can recognize "Jane" by her taste in, especially older, men, many of them classic fictional characters, as well as her distinct fear of drama class auditions. Like many of the other species in the Literary Cabinet Universe, she is crazy in her own right. Registration date : 2008-12-04
