Dictionary Definition : Kelsey-- Frequently called "Kels," this female specimen of Homo Sapiens belongs to the Literary Cabinet universe. Although she is a young member, she has shown her maturity to be above other species, sometimes. "Kelsey" can behave quite crazy in her own right. One of her most noticeable traits is paranoia and knowledge of trolls.

The next buddy read won't be for a few weeks, so don't panic. I just wanted to have plenty of time for discussion on what book everyone would like to read, because I know many people will be off later this month and would like to participate, but may not visit the site very often right now.
I figured we could simply nominate books here, and then a bit later vote on them in a poll (where you can vote for more than one book) in another thread, where we can then decide when to read the winning book.

I've tried Dorian Gray and hated it, but I have The Unbearable Lightness of Being on my list anyway, so I'd go along with that.

My other nominations are:

Kazuo Ishiguro, When we were orphans
Kurt Tucholsky, Castle Gripsholm
Franz Kafka, The Trial
Theodor Storm, The Rider on the White Horse
E.A. Poe, The Murders in the Rue Morgue

This is all new material for me. I think I read the Poe story a long time ago, but I'm willing to give it a go again if that is the one chosen. Either way, hopefully others will put in their input as to what they want to read next.

Dictionary Definition : Rodent - Homo Rodentiensis is a typical LC creature. Always ready to laugh about stupidity, this being has long occupied a special moderator status on the LC. As one of the very few LC creatures who actually can get and keep a partner, she is the object of constant envy. Though madness is not part of the average Rodents characteristics, this particular feature can at times be subject to change, especially when striken by severe sleep deprivation.

I nominate Anne of Green Gables (having read this numerous time I feel I am cheating, but having 3 kids means I don't have time to read something I actually have to pay attention to.)

I also vote for Anne of Green Gables.

By Nick Hornby or by Lynn Barber?

By the way, I am preparing a vote. Since there are so many different books, it'll be multiple choice this time.

If there are no more nominations within 24 hours, I'll close the thread and open a vote. Is that d'accord?
