Jane Austen's Women Empty
PostSubject: Jane Austen's Women   Jane Austen's Women EmptySun Dec 07, 2008 8:33 pm

I am writing a paper about the different types of women encountered in Jane Austen's two most famous novels, i.e. "Pride&Prejudice" and "Sense&Sensibility". When I read these texts, I find again and again that there are categories of characters, both among men and women. I have therefore divided the women in "heroines", "friend" and "(potential) enemies", each with subcategories.

Do you feel similar? And if yes, where would you place the women in the novels, are they friends, foes, or perhaps unclassifiable? Also, what would you call the categories?
