| We go to school longer than any other school in Virginia, and it's stupid. 7:50 to 2:35 every day, when most other schools go an hour less.
We have a block schedule, so I have four classes a semester for a total of eight credits a year. I think I only need like, 28 credits to graduate, so it's nice to have a few padded credits in there. Of course I'm going for an advanced, so I can't actually fail, but you know. If you pass your standardized tests junior year, you can take college credit classes half-day your senior year and start college as a sophomore the following Fall. A lot of people do that. | |

| In my school district, the younger people go to school earlier than the teens. My brother's old elementary school started at 7:40am, his current middle school starts at 8:15am, then the high schools (grades 9-10) and senior high schools (grades 11-12) formerly start at 9:00am, although we have an option in high school. Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors can go from 8:00am-3:20pm or 9:00am-4:15pm. Seniors can take 5, 6, 7, or 8 classes at whatever times they wish. Our timetable reads like this:
0- 8:00am-8:50am
1- 9:00am-9:50am
2- 10:00am-10:50am
3- 10:58am-11:47am
4- 11:50am-1:27pm (half this time is lunch, the other half is class)
5- 1:30pm-2:23pm
6- 2:30pm-3:20pm
7- 3:28pm-4:15pm
As seniors, we can choose any combination of the above. So I could, hypothetically go 0-4 and be in school only from 8:00am-1:27pm. But because of stupid graduation credits, I have to stay for 8 classes, 8:00am-4:15pm. It sucks... | |

I usually wake up about 5:30-6:00. Bright and early for us both...

7:20 am. How about yours? Why do you have to wake up so early? I thought American schools were always starting about 8 or something...
It kind of varies, I think. We start at about 7:30-7:40, but I started a little after 8:00 in elementary school. 
I seriously hate waking up that early; all of my teachers say the high schoolers should start later than the small children, anyway.
