One can spot "Laura," by the fun she has grading papers and drinking coffee, with triple coffee consumption ever since she quit smoking. Like another species, Homo Sapiens Zarasahanous, she enjoys picking at the extreme Twilight fans. This specimen is particularly fond of procrastinating, as most of the other species of the Literary Cabinet Universe are.

| In our local newspaper, there was an article yesterday about how Texas school officials desire to revise school books according to quite a conservative set of ideas.
For those who haven't read about it yet, I've located the article that was published in the Independent:

I admit, I was shocked. I had known for some time that the rules for school books were quite different in the US, but I had no idea that curricular changes of this extent and kind could actually become reality in a Western nation of the 21st century. (If I offend anyone by saying this, I apologize.)
What are your thoughts about this issue? Do you approve of the changes, or some of them? Or do you believe that a more scientific curriculum would be better? | |

Dictionary Definition : Kelsey-- Frequently called "Kels," this female specimen of Homo Sapiens belongs to the Literary Cabinet universe. Although she is a young member, she has shown her maturity to be above other species, sometimes. "Kelsey" can behave quite crazy in her own right. One of her most noticeable traits is paranoia and knowledge of trolls.

| There are some cultural things beyond comprehension in our country. I think this is one of them. It's a case of a lot of muddled "facts" and a blurred right-wrong line. One may believe that his/her values and ideas are correct, but is it right to force such things on children? Not if other viewpoints are offered. (For example, I know I, in a capitalist country, have read some communist writings in the course of my schooling, but that doesn't mean I'm a communist-- it means I'm better educated than I was; however I was taught to take things with a grain of salt and form my own opinions.) That's just for ideas and opinions, though. As for hard facts, they are unchangeable, and those are the things that must be taught, no matter whose toes are stepped on. | |
