Tell you what, Laura: when I have my next outage (in October), and I work all those hours again, if personnel from Siemens (our biggest vendor) come here from their main office in Germany, I may ask you to teach me some choice words in German to mutter behind their backs when they start driving me nuts.

Ready to start teaching! What sort of words will you need? Plain old swear words, or something more elaborate?

Let's start with some basic ones:
What the f***?
F*** off.
Get the f*** out of here.
Like I said, this will be muttered after they have walked away, not said to their faces. As tempting as that would be, I rather enjoy being employed here.

Yeah, right.
Although I will say I probably let my exasperation lead me to ask a question of Laura that was, in hindsight, a tad bit inappropriate.

I predict Paul muttering one of these phrases under his breath, only to have the other person whip around and start yelling at him in rapid German.

Yes, it is called Dominion. They own a number of power plants, primarily in the eastern half of the US. Why does the name strike you as strange?

It may be the context in which I learned the word - for me "dominion" is always associated with "evil".

Well, the two that was here are now gone. They were here just to test some equipment. I expect some more to come during the week, however, along with plenty of American employees from Siemens. If I have a chance to talk with them I'll see what part of Germany they come from, just in case you're curious.
